Low, low!
Caught some on dries today. That is the good thing about a low clear river. The trout start to focus on bugs. Nymph those deeper holes! Dry droppers conditions!!

Crazy low
A couple of young guys and myself drug my raft from saddlers falls at Cedar Valley Resort access # 1 to the new hardy bridge. Crazy low and clear conditions. We caught fish and had fun, but we need some rain, really bad. Deads mans curve was not too bad. Really enjoyed seeing our beautiful smallies.

Dam 1
Well we got out today and had a lot of debris hit us about 10am. I thought maybe we had a lot of rain north of us, but about 2pm it began to clear up. They lowered the gate at dam 1 to drop all the water out of lake above. They do this to help kill the moss. Messed up fishing for a few hours, got down to Needles eye above Saddlers and the bite was on! 2 smallies and a bunch of bows. Nymphing and olive woollies. Turned out to be a great day!

White lightning
Last few trips white lightning has worked, with best fly being y2k. Sunny days can be tough. Find the holes. River is as low as I have seen in over 20 yrs. Need a lot of rain bad. Sunday as the front moved thru, we had a brief shower. Caught a big largemouth bass today, and plenty of rainbows. Havnt seen a smallie or brown this week yet...

Merry Christmas
We are catching on olive bead head woollies, nymphs and y2ks. The low clear water has the fish Moody. Tough fishing, but when ya hit the right thing bites on! River is very low and clear. Need rain! The fish are spooky and on those sunny days can get tough. I've had nymphs be key on those days and then a woolly be hot. Fish hard!

Catching
Chasing squirrels easier this week it got cold. Warming up next week. I liked the cold snap, but a warm up will be nice. Catching plenty of bows last week but no big ones. Will be out next 2 days looking for them. Wollies on the overcast days and y2ks and nymphs on those bright days. Trick on sunny days is to get to the bottom. Crazy low water conditions. Water clarity is clear, great time for sight fishing. This is the time of year smallies start hitting and brown trou

Browns
We didn't have any luck chasing walleye first of week. Tough fishing with the low clear water. Today a simple bead head olive woolly kicked butt! 2 browns and plenty of bows. A good day!

Chasing after walleye!
The weather is right and we are trying to catch walleye for a few days. Dang it was cold on the water today! No walleye, just bass today. Got 2 more days we gonna try, then back on the fly rest of the week. Water is low and clear, could use a lot of rain...

Winter weather
Wow what a beautiful day! About freezing temps with frozen precipitation moving in. Not suppose to be much accumulation. River remains low and clear, steady rain on Saturday but not much. Still need more, hopefully some snow today, I did see freezing rain falling earlier. It may be cold out but Sissy is red hot! Stay warm!!

Little cold out
Its getting cold out there and I like it! River is low and clear, we still need rain bad! Looks like so.e weather coming thru tomorrow. Maybe snow early, I will be at the shop 9-noon, trying to warm it up... With the low clear water still the fish can get picky some days. Sunday last weekend it got tough and a few nymphs made everything right. Ya gotta pay attention to what going on in the water, if the are rolling on the surface something is hatching. But like today if y

Oh my!
We got some much needed rain. Ground soaked it right up. River looks good. I will be on the water next several days. I kinda thought the bite would be tough after the rain on Thursday, but dang I gotta say my little olive woolly was hot today. Browns, smallies, bows, Goggle eye, sunfish, grass pickerel and no telling what else that got off. A great day! We need more rain!

Beautiful week!
I have been out everyday lately and we have been having a lot of fun. Catching them on olives on good days, y2ks on the tougher days. The leaves are just about over! Windy days can be a mess. Need rain!

Baby its cold outside
Its cold out and the leaves are falling. I dont mind the cold but leaves suck! Last week the full moon made the catching where ya had to work for them. Then finally Friday night was a overcast perfect dark night. It was on Saturday with plenty o fish! Cold temps should get big fish moving! Colder the better! The leaves make swinging and streamer fishing little tougher. I like to go hopper dropper when the leaves get thick. And when really bad use an indicator with y2k or p

Low water!
We got out this morning about 8am and I think they may have been working on the hatchery. Water levels had dropped 2 ft from the day before, lol hard way to get down and already a low river. River is getting to low for a drift boat, using my Nrs slipstream raft does the trick. We had to weave around the boulders, but made out just fine. Ya can't turn off the Spring River, so flow was back to normal by about 10am. No they did not bite well with the low water. They were biting
