Catching plenty of trout this week and several smallmouth. It has been very hot too with temps in mid 90's all week. Looks like starting today the temps will get back down into the 80's. Olive woollies, guppies, and y2ks have been hot this week. A couple of mornings the trout seemed to be off the bite. Didnt take long to figure out they were feeding on the bugs in the water. A size 12 caddis bead head nymph did the trick. Just remember they are always feeding on something...
My father and I will be leaving for Baldwin Michigan on Sunday. We have been invited by my friend John Trinkle, who wants to start guiding for salmon during their spawning run up the Pere Marquette at this time of year. I'm hoping to get a lot of pictures and videos to promote him for next year. I have never caught a salmon and I'm looking forward to telling all about the trip. Stay tuned!! We will be fishing 10 wts!!
